definition: |
A glacier is a large amount of ice that forms in very cold places on the earth. A glacier forms from packed snow, and it moves like a very slow river or waterfall of ice.
Even though glaciers move very slowly, they can push rocks of all sizes, including boulders, across the land. When a glacier melts, the rocks and other rock debris that were pushed get deposited on the ground, often very far from where they came from.
