The Nile River in Africa is one of the world's great rivers. Most scientists say that it is the longest river in the world. The Nile begins in the country of Uganda and flows north through the countries of South Sudan, Sudan, and Egypt before finally emptying into the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile flows through much desert land, but the river makes it possible to do farming in areas near it.
