Yoga is a set of exercises that make the body strong and help people to feel relaxed and calm. Yoga came originally from India. People do not move very much when they do yoga. Instead, they stay in one particular position for a certain amount of time, then change to another position. The positions stretch the muscles and also make them stronger. Breathing is also very important in yoga, and a teacher of yoga helps students learn how to control their breathing.
Yoga is more difficult than it looks! My mom says that some positions are too hard for her, but she'll keep trying until she can do them.Yoga positions have names, like "the cobra," "the tree," and "the mountain." |
