Lava is very hot, melted rock that comes out of a mountain called a volcano. The lava flows down the sides of the volcano to the ground. Sometimes it flows across land and into the sea. Later, lava gets cool and becomes new land.
Our teacher showed us a video about a volcano today. The volcano exploded, and we watched red lava flowing like rivers down the sides of the volcano.
