noun |
definition: |
Your lungs are the parts of your body that you use when you breathe. Lungs fill with air and bring oxygen into your blood. The blood then goes to your heart, which pumps the blood with its oxygen through your body. Every part of your body needs oxygen to survive. When the oxygen is gone, the blood goes back to your lungs where it can get more oxygen from the air you breathe.
Mammals have two lungs, one on either side of the heart.
