law Law is the set of rules that everyone who lives in a certain place must follow. When we say that something is against the law, we mean that if someone does that thing, they could get in trouble with the police. Judges, lawyers, and police officers have to know and understand the law. [2 definitions]
lawn1 A lawn is an area of land covered with grass that people cut to keep short.
lawn mower A lawn mower is a machine that people use to cut grass. A lawn mower has a sharp blade inside it that goes around. The blade cuts the grass as the machine moves forward.

Lebanon Lebanon is a country on the continent of Asia. It is in an area of the world called the Middle East. Lebanon lies on the shore of a sea called the Mediterranean. Its neighbors are Israel and Syria. Most of Lebanon has a mild climate with warm summers and cool winters. Lebanon has flat lands along the coast of the sea but also mountains in the east. Some parts of Lebanon have forest, and Lebanon is famous for a certain type of tree called a cedar. You can see this tree on the flag of Lebanon.
