part of speech: noun
definition: An ocean is one of the very large bodies of salt water on the earth. Oceans are much bigger than any lake or other body of water. Most of our planet is covered by oceans. Altogether, there are five oceans. Our continent, North America, is between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. The other three oceans are the Indian Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean.
Have you ever gone swimming in an ocean? The water tastes very salty! I don't really like the salt, but I love the waves!
